The PigEasy team is slowly coming out of our Thanksgiving food coma and preparing to hit the ground running as we flip the calendar into December. This next month has us traveling east and then north to the Midwest Pork Conference in Indiana and the Prairie Livestock Expo in Winnipeg.

The MealMeter feed dispenser and its various applications will be our booth’s main focus at both of these shows.

MealMeter feed system: Fresh Feed. Every time. All the Time.

The patented MealMeter feed dispenser has been developed and modified to work in all areas where feed intake is critical on a sow farm. Originally developed for incoming gilts, the MealMeter maximizes feed intake for sows in breeding, lactating sows and now young gilts in the GDU. With its unique, no leak design, the MealMeter system allows the animal to meter out her feed into a clean bowl, every time. This is the only system that can be used at all these areas in a sow farm, making transition periods seamless.

MealMeter with Breeder Bowl System:

The Breeder Bowl is installed on the head gate of an individual breeding stall. The bowl’s design and position ensures it can swing open for sows to easily exit the crate. Just like with the sow feeder, the

Breeder Bowl serves as both the sow’s feed and only water source. The water acts as a “dispensing regulator” so she learns to not over dispense and cleans up her

feed with every drink.

MealMeter in Lactation:

If there’s a place where you need the MealMeter system most, it would be in lactation. Sows have access to feed and a clean bowl 24/7. Staff can spend their valuable time tending to more important matters than cleaning out feed bowls.

Our staff estimates that they clean less than 1% of feeders every day. Customers have commented

on average, they are getting over 1lb of feed more in their sows a day after converting to our system AND saving half a person in labor.
